Recipes for a Profitable Wedding Business?
You heard me talk about the ground-breaking new coursework I’m developing called The 7 Conversations Every Wedding Entrepreneur Must Master to Thrive, right?
These are the seven most challenging conversations you’ll have as a businessperson. Sometimes you’ll have the conversation with others, sometimes it’s a conversation you gotta have with yourself. Either way, if you put it off, or worse blow it, you’ll feel the impact in your business and your life.
The idea for the series started percolating once I realized that most of the business folks I coached as an Ombuds came to talk about the same topics: hiring, setting expectations, firing, delegating, poor performance, regaining their confidence, and dealing with conflicts with others and inside themselves. Heck, I’d stumbled through some of these conversations myself. (Don’t ask how many VAs I’ve had; I’m finally delegating better )
Knowing how hard it is to be present, effective and kind when you’re wondering if the conversation is gonna backfire on you, I’m determined for 7 Conversations to be a way for you to
a) identify the key conversations you want to improve
b) get step-by-step instruction and advice to be a more effective, compassionate communicator
c) have a safe place to practice those conversations.
Practice doesn’t make perfect but it does give you a fighting shot at very good! And, once you master these babies, you’ll feel fearless. Really ready to face whatever comes your way. That’s how I feel and I want that for you, too.
A bright idea.
Want to Cook Up Some Fun? Be my Sous Chef
I love to cook so I couldn’t resist using a kitchen metaphor. A sous chef is the Chef’s right hand woman or man. I’d love to have your thoughts, ideas and suggestions as we whip up the first batches of the 7 Conversations. A fun collaboration between your expert experience in the wedding industry and my conflict management expertise and experiences over the years. You and your teammates will get to:
- suggest flavors- meaning the types of conversations you’d like explored
- throw in pinches of your favorite exercises, readings, quotes and ideas
- taste-test my recipes for a successful business leadership early
- mix it up with other wedding professionals who want a kinder, gentler community
- and more stuff I’m sure to think up
You’ll be a volunteer but they’ll definitely be perks- some spontaneous coaching and probably a juicy discount coming your way. Of course, your suggestions and thoughts will be confidential and part of the private Facebook group I created. It’s not a lot of heavy lifting- a few questions or surveys here and there and you can leave the group at any time. No hard feelings. So come on. Put on your apron and let’s cook, baby!
