Monday Musings: Looking Ahead

by Dina on December 7, 2009

For tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today. ~ African proverb

Yeah, it’s December.  There’s one bit that I really like, although I hate the cold and bustle of the holiday season. (Uh, yeah, I’m a scrooge, I know.)  I love thinking about the year ahead.

Next to Rosh Hashanah (Jewish new year), New Year’s is my favorite holiday.  I love them both because they are about reflecting on the past, making decisions (and maybe amends) and moving forward.  So, right now I’m thinking about my intentions for next year.  And, getting pretty excited by it, too.

Next year, Positively Wed will launch its first two quarters of Brideability Summits.  The Summits are a way for us to get together as a group and talk about what’s important.  Some Summits will be interviews with key people in the wedding community or who have talents or skills that can benefit you.  Other Summits will be about mastering effective communication so you can be ‘fearless’ in running your wedding business.  Each Summit is a 60 minute workshop and will be recorded because I know some folks have ‘other jobs’ and might not be able to attend live.  You should try, though, because the Q&A is where the good stuff comes out.   Summits (valued at $38) are free, for the time being, so definitely register and take advantage of them!  The December Summit on contracts is tomorrow, Tuesday at 4:30pm ET!

I’m also preparing to something a little, well…different.  Honestly, would it be me if I wasn’t taking a different path?! :)   It’s still coming together but I wanted to share the idea and ask your thoughts, in true mediator fashion.

What do you think about a Summit subscription series ?  The Series runs for one quarter, or three months.  Each month, you’d get access to the Summit call, the audio, transcript and worksheet send to your inbox, a monthly Q&A call and an opportunity to work with me directly during my monthly ‘office hours’.    I’d love for you to either answer here or take this 4 question survey.  And, of course, I want to know what you want to learn about most!

So, now that’s it’s December, what are you preparing for in 2010?
