A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. And sometimes it feels just like that….a million steps when I’m learning a new piece of software. Usually, I’m eager but anxious to get started. Excited because I know that whatever the software is, it’s really gonna help me out saving time. Essential for a one-woman enterprise. Anxious because I never know what the documentation is gonna be like. At times, it’s all GEEK to me!
You might remember that I got a pretty unusual and unexpected holiday gift on Friday. Melinda Cohan, president of Coaches Console which I featured as my Find, gave me a three month subscription to Coaches Console, this amazing practice management system. I’m so excited….and anxious.
Now, I’m relieved. The set up process was not bad. This will not be the learning curve from hell. That’s not to say there isn’t a lot inside the dashboard or the set up. There is. But the team at CC does a great job of realizing software anxiety syndrome and stomping it out. Brava!
There’s a distinctly feminine style to this company and I love it. I got a welcome letter that outlines the myriad of ways I could get started. Videos, online tutorials and help were all available. I’m feeling a little overwhelmed but like I have plenty of ways to get my questions answered. I even got an email today encouraging me to ’stay the course’ and remind me that there’s someone to help when I need it.
Tonight, I’m giving a chat for the New England Wedding Professionals on social media (January’s teleseminar topic!) ; otherwise, I’d be digging right in. If this turns out like I think it will (perfectly), I’ll let you know how you can get your very own. Stay tuned!
