Friday Find: MissNowMrs Changes Brides’ Frustration to Glee

by Dina on April 22, 2010

I grew up watching soap operas with my mom in the afternoons.  Somehow over the years I got to be a big fan of two shows, One Life to Live and All My Children.

OLTL left the airways this past year probably a victim of reality TV.  Who needs to watch characters when real characters tell their tales on TV, sometimes to even more dramatic effects. (Read: Jon & Kate Plus 8)  Thankfully, AMC  continues to have an audience and to showcase the most wonderful/dasterdly diva of all time, Erica Kane, better known as Susan Lucci.

Jackson and Ericka

Jackson and Ericka

Did you know that the Erica Kane character, who was created in the 60s by Agnes Nixon, was meant to represent a modern woman who knew her own dreams and set about accomplishing them?  Pretty big feminist idea for the time.    Remember when Erica  owned that perfume/cosmetics company- the girl was a hot mess!  Erica is still part of the show, even as her acting career has blossomed out to include a stint on Broadway and a bevy of fashion and beauty companies. That must be how she manages to continually look stunning- she mixes her own makeup.

Must be the same power Ericka used to land 10 hubbies.  Yep, ten!  She was married seven times to six different men, with four weddings that didn’t take. Yikes- I couldn’t follow the trail of marriages I found on her wiki page.  Brent, Martin, Cuhdaheg, Chandler, Montgomery, Montgomery… oh, I give up!

MissNowMrs

No doubt Erica’s life would be a whole lot easier.  MissNowMrs.com is a wonderful site that takes the ick out of changing your name.  Did you know it can take up to 13 hours to change your drivers license, passport, social security number, insurance, wills and other important documents.  Who has the time or energy for all that after hosting the wedding of the century?  Really.  You can help your brides out and do something good for your business.  MNM offers wedding vendors two wonderful programs
MissNowMrs Vendor Programs

Personally, I think this is a great idea.  I remember feeling a little letdown after my last vow renewal ceremony.   Something like this from one of my wedding vendors would’ve meant the world to me.   Your bride will appreciate it, too.   And, there’s a little perk for you, too.  By having affiliate products,  you can smooth out  some of the, eh, bumps in your cash flow.  So, it’s a total win-win.  And, what a lovely way to stay in your bride’s thoughts and life after the big day.  I encourage you to learn more about both of these fabulous programs by visiting the MissNowMrs vendor page
